Why not make some radio?!!
The Third Coast International Audio Festival invites producers, artists and enthusiasts of all backgrounds (basically - everyone and everyone) to participate in this radio adventure, by submitting finished audio pieces (2:30 - 3 min) inspired by one of three items purchased at a dollar store: a "feisty women" mug, a 4pk of wooden mousetraps, and an old-school bicycle bell.
Photos of the items can be found at the the Third Coast Festival website and also under 'pics' all the way on the other side of this page.
A few things you should know about the project:
- Dollar Storeys may now be submitted, and will be accepted until August 30th. The first ten people who submit stories will be mailed a special dollar store item chosen by the Third Coast Festival staff!
- All submissions will be posted permanently in the Dollar Storeys archive.
- Four "buck tales" will be chosen as this year's Third Coast Festival ShortDocs, and producers of these stories will be invited to Chicago (travel and accommodation paid) to present their work at the 2007 TCF Conference, happening November 1-3.
- Other great Dollar Storeys will be presented at public listening events and on the TCF's weekly show Re:sound.
