I play in some bands but to be able to eat I record other peoples. Bands I've recorded are: clean george IV, gallon drunk, faust, the boxer rebellion, optimist club, wolfman, pete doherty, the rakes, dead kids, jazzinho, the kaiser chiefs, ice sea dead people, help she cant swim, selfish cunt, dirty fuzz, basement jaxx, blind jackson, jet, naked and the boys, ratty rat rat, the molotovs, pure reason revolution and many I've forgotten or now cease to exist. Maybe you'd like me to record your band? please don't be afraid to ask. Although I ideally like to record bands live, how nature intended, if necessary I can make the type of recordings that you hear on Xfm or MTV2 where everything has been put in time by a computer.
Well, my last email and message got no reply so I'll have another try....
How are you Thomas? I hope you're well. I assume all is good over there? Actually the incentive for me posting is that I just heard The Final Countdown by Europe and it reminded me of the gig we played in Hitchin with those old geezers with the million dollar Korg megasynths who soundchecked it... good times.
im happy with my set up, sort of. just need to figure it out. so complicated sometimes. boo,boo,boo.......bring on phantom power so exciting. see you on weekend. me you and my monster?
which version? The "final" version with the actual chorus?
I enjoyed and hated that song with equal measure.
Recently I've been ripping off Botch. I got a looping pedal so I can do a one-man spastic guitar riff symphony. Tis good.
I found something you might like. It's not a full guitar synth like the MS-20, but you can pull off some badass synth basslines with it. Unfortunately you have to build it yourself from a pcb. Maybe Balti (balty?) can hook you up.
I've decided in a similar vein to you that I want to do slightly pop music. Tuned to C. A cross between SunnO))) and indie disco. With fiddly bits.
I found a company which can build you a fucking awesome amp for about £300. I mean awesome as in a perfect reproduction of any era Bassman, an Orange amp or even a Sunn Model T (150 watts... holy shit). www.ceriatone.com www.tedweber.com I might make an amp one day but I think I'd touch one of those filter caps and discharge 500v through my heart. Which would suck in a "Hey! You dead buddy" kinda way.
I like Bjork's new album, as well as the most recent Dillinger Escape Plan album and the new Smashing Pumpkins album (well, most of it anyhow).
you love both of those bands but to be honest, what happens is they were addded at the same time as other great albums and they end up running into each other, its an itunes thing
