We are dedicated to raising awarness about an issue seldom spoken of, Child Prostitution. The United Nations Children's Fund shows that at least 2 million children are sexually exploited every year, 400,000 of these children reside in the United States. In New York City alone there are an estimated 5,000 child prostitutes with the average age being 12 to 13. Nearly a quarter of the affected population lives in one of the wealthiest nations in the world.Here in the United States many are lured into this horrible situation due to poverty and homelessness; often they are runaways who feel they have no other choice. Now you can help them get back on their feet by supporting "Gems-Girls". Gems-Girls provides clothing and comfort items, but also prosecutes their pimps so they are off the streets for good.
