TDM Aka Tedium Formed 1993 in Melbourne Australia - Influenced by music of an explorative nature and the mechanics of popular culture. Interested in the balance between substance, humour, sincerity and insincerity.
TEDIUM - early years
Originally, from a performance perspective, Tedium's main objective was to create an atmosphere of tension in which the safe conditioned responses of the audience and performers were insufficient to deal with the given situation, thus forcing them into a position where they were operating on a level beyond everyday mediocrity. Philosophically Tedium were interested in breaking down social, moral and intellectual boundaries imposed on oneself by oneself or society as a whole. Emphasis was on having an experience as opposed to entertaining an audience. The pressure of an audiences expectation was used as fuel for the performance.
