Six years after settling upon Duluth, Minnesotas north shore, songwriter and storyteller Teague Alexy is making music as vital and poignant as ever. Putting a contemporary spin on old-time storytelling, Teagues tales of redemption and unforeseen fulfillment, with villains turned heroes and back again, prove powerful anthems that will send your spirit shadowboxing. Hooking up with Nicholas 'The Feelin' Mrozinski (keys player from the Honky-tonk outlaw group White Iron Band) they began writing tunes for their first colaberative project The New Folklore. Rounding out The Feelin' Band is the accomplished and highly respected Jeff Engholm on bass/ trombone and the talented drummer Paul Grill.
The Feelin Bands relentless swing is never overstated or forced as their harmonies and melodies shine like a solar-powered aura of blue, bare-boned soul, turning the songs into powerful anthems that groove the body and energize the spirit. Old fans of Teague Alexy will immediately notice the change in style that The Feelin Band adds, as Mrozinskis expressive piano drives Teagues lyrics into new musical territory, conjuring images of the band sitting atop an old rickety pickup truck, rolling down Americas highways, always ready with friendly smile and a bit of wit or wisdom. With hints of folk, rock, blues and jazz mixing the new tunes into an original blend of Americana, The New Folklore uses emotional stories as metaphors for love, social injustice, and living life to the fullest. Modernizing storytelling for a new age, Teague Alexy with the Feelin Band have created an album that will resonate throughout time and indeed become The New Folklore for this generation.
