About me:
History of Team Fracture
Pre 2000 – Everybody woodsball/scenario players
2000 – 2001 – Met Jim and Mark Ivey at Sumter, SC field and would all play woodsball and have a jolly time. Myself and another guy who came from California got me hooked on speedball and we started getting a team together. We played some 3man local tournaments named the Carolina Cartel and then grabbed Jim and Mark Ivey and a few other guys to make a 5 man team.
2001-2002 – We started with the direction and a vision that speedball was the greatest thing and stayed with the name Carolina Cartel and did some local 3 man and 5 man tournaments doing mediocre but gaining more experience. Also after this year was complete we all went different ways I got invited to go and play with SC Roadkill in 2002 at World Cup playing 10 man.
2002 – 2003 – Jim Ivey, Mark Ivey traveled to different fields looking to play and called me up to see if I was interested in playing as well and we hooked up with some more guys to do a real tournament series called South Carolina Players Association (now known as South Carolina Paintball Field Owners Association) and went in under there team name, the Rednecks( yea it’s real comedy but this is who all the other dudes was) The 2002 -2003 was a pretty good year getting much needed experience and understanding paintball more and playing under the Redneck name wasn’t a very presentable name to try to get sponsors I will say the only awesome part to that name was people would underestimate us and then play and get rolled by some Rednecks + 3. We ended that season playing in the rookie division 5th place out of 12 teams and winning $1500 in cash that year.
2003-2004 – The vision became more clear as we dropped the Redneck name and Jim Ivey and myself would throw names around to get a name to keep and Jim came up with Fracture and I looked around, no one had it so the name stuck and beginning using it in local tournaments to get the name out there more. We started doing 3 man’s because that was the biggest thing at the time and slowly a little bit of 5 man with one huge win taking home $750 cash.
2004-2005 – Fracture now was a more established team, Jim Ivey, Mark Ivey and myself being the core players since we met back in 2000/2001 we all decided to play with the big boys in the CFOA(Carolina Field Owners Association) and jumping right into Novice. We did not realize these people could all play and well to make it easy it was not a good year, the first and last tournament we finished 4th the rest was well around the bottom. What did we get out of it? The idea on how to improve! Ending the CFOA 14th out of 27. Also we went to world cup this year and placed 27th out of 60 teams and missing the semi’s by 16 points.
2005-2006 – Fracture came out in the 05 season ready to make a name and have people say where did they come from? We played hard and a lot of tournaments I mean A LOT! We played local events, went and played ultimate madness, CFOA and an EXP event. We was more of a consistent team and picking up A-Hole helped us be a strong podium team we ended up 4th out of 30 teams.
2006-Present – This year fracture lost a key player due to work overload and we had to keep changing our roster and never got any continuity and a rhythm going, we picked up two strong front guys that will defiantly help us for the upcoming 07 season. The players we picked up, we took 4 off the fracture roster and 3 from another team and went to Mid Atlantic Open PSP event and made a name on the national level getting 6th place out of 38 teams. This season we are just playing for the love and trying to running a team who is trying to win the series. Watch out for us in 07!
