Die HipHop Formation Team H-Town besteht aus den zwei MCs Tobah und Hefal, sowie einem Konglomerat aus Featuregästen (Sliver, Dantaya, Milkman, Anne, Crystal) und Produzenten. Die Herkunft der unterschiedlichen Instrumentale sorgt auch für ein Plus an Abwechslung in Sachen Sound.
Der Name Team H-Town entstammt dem Freundeskreis der beiden Protagonisten, welcher sich zu einem großen Teil aus Hütteldorfern bzw. „Hütteldorfphilen“ Personen zusammensetzt, wodurch der Begriff „H-Town“ geprägt wurde. Ein Phänomen das weltumspannend ist (Hannover, Houston… - alles H-Town). Erste Schritte (abgesehen von der jahrelangen HipHop-Leidenschaft in Jugendjahren) wurden im Jahr 2001 gesetzt, als man erstmals verbale Gehversuche im Homestudio eines Freundes unternahm. Aus diesen entstand auch der erste Track „Allerderbste Session“ der heute in der ungefähr dritten, überarbeiteten Version immer noch ein Banger ist.
Einen weiteren Aufschwung brachten Sessions mit der Grundform der Band „Permanent Vacation“, die zum ersten größeren Auftritt im Reigen bei der Kennedybrücke (2003) führten. Es folgten Studiosessions bei unterschiedlichen Freunden und Bekannten, die sich 2006 intensivierten und 2007 in der ersten EP „Knowledge Flash Flows“ mündeten. Auf dieser sind drei ältere sowie sechs aktuelle Stücke vertreten. Stilmäßig ist man irgendwo zwischen Methodman und Redman bzw. Blumentopf (um eine deutschsprachige Band zu nennen) angesiedelt, wobei sich melodiösere Stücke sowie Raggatracks die Klinke in die Hand geben. Auch Wiener Slang mischt sich immer wieder unter die Lyrics, allerdings nicht annähernd so intensiv wie bei reinen Mundartcrews.
Es geht den Künstlern darum, das Publikum zu unterhalten und zum Mitmachen zu bewegen.
Neben akustischen Leckerbissen organisierte die umtriebige Crew 2007 regelmäßige Konzerte für Undergroundkünstler im Cafe Derwisch (1160 Wien, Gürtel/Ecke Hasnerstr.; U6-Station Thaliastr.) und trat selbst unter anderem in Locations wie der Arena oder dem Planet Music auf.
Ende letzten Jahres begannen wir mit der Arbeit an unserem Album, welches in den nächsten Monaten erscheinen soll. Neben den zwei neuen Produzenten Walldorf & Stettler ist daran auch eine Band maßgeblich beteiligt, die uns auch live unterstützt.

The name Team H-Town originates from both protagonists’ circle of friends, a large part of which is made up of Hütteldorfers and “Hütteldorfphiles” – thus the term “H-Town” was coined. The initial steps (aside from the long lasting passion for hip hop cultivated as adolescents) laid down in 2001 when the MCs undertook their first verbal attempts to walk in a friend’s home studio. Sessions with the band “Permanent Vacation” further advanced the group, leading to the first big gig at the club Reigen, by Kennedy Bridge in Hietzing (2003). Studio sessions with various friends and acquaintances ensued, which intensified in 2006 and in 2007 culminated in the first EP “Knowledge Flash Flows.” There are three older tracks and six current ones on the EP. As far as style goes, the sound falls somewhere between Method Man and Redman or Blumentopf (to name a German group), whereby more melodic pieces are constantly working their way in. Viennese slang is also mixed into the lyrics, although not nearly as intensively as pure dialectic crews. To the artists, it is about entertaining the public and encouraging them to participate. In addition to acoustic delicacies, the active crew organized regular concerts in 2007 for underground artists in Café Derwisch (1160 Vienna) and itself stepped onto the stage in locations including Arena Wien and Planet Music. At the end of last year we began to work on our album, which should be released within the next year. Apart from the two new producers Waldorf & Stettler, a band is also significantly involved and supports us live.
