Bio
Te'Amir, is a young artist born and raised in Los Angeles CA. He has been on the scene as a professional drummer and percussionist since age 14. He has traveled the world as a musician, as well as a photojournalist, from age 6. Te'Amir recently was commissioned to remix one of his heroes, the legendary Ethiopian musician and Composer, Mulatu Astatke, for the Mochilla and Vtech Timeless Concert Series. Te'Amir, being of Ethiopian heritage, took great pride in being a part of this historic project..."Mulatu is the man...I grew up hearing his melodies and musical fusions... my father and his siblings used to watch Mulatu play on t.v. in Ethiopia when they were kids..."The remix features vocalist William Warren III. "I was fortunate to be able to work with one of my favorite singers, William Warren III, he is sensitive to the feeling of the music and takes it where it wants to go..." Te'Amir is currently working on his own Ethiopian influenced Album, continuing the evolution and revolution of music from the Root. He is also part of Aloe Blacc's touring band The Grand Scheme... -
