Based on our research among UFCW members, scholarship programs have tremendous value for young workers. Redesigned for 2008, the UFCW Scholarship can now be utilized to better serve our members and act as a tool to organize.
Several scholarships of up to $8,000 will be awarded to UFCW members and their dependents. The scholarships are limited to UFCW members who have been in good standing since January 14, 2007.

Although volunteer fire brigades in Louisville first appeared in the 1780s, the LFD became a fully paid department in 1858, making it our country's 3rd oldest professional fire department.
