Isabella Marie Swan
Isabella Marie Swan was born on the 13th of September 1987 to young newlyweds Charlie and Renee Swan, living in the small, dreary town of Forks, Washington. When Bella was 6 months old, Renee left Charlie taking her daughter with her to sunny Phoenix, Arizona. When Renee re-married to minor league baseball player Phil Dwyer who travels alot due to his profession, Bella could see how much her mother wanted to stay with him, and she offered to move back to Forks to live with her father. Bella is pale skinned, incredibly clumsy and, as any accident prone clutz does, hates attention.
Edward Anthony Mason Cullen
Edward Anthony Mason Cullen was born son of Edward and Elizabeth Masen on June 20th, 1901. In 1918, he was in Chicago dying of the Spanish Influenza when doctor Carlisle Cullen turned him into a vampire on his mother’s dying plea for Carlisle to do "what others cannot do" to save her son. As a human, Edward was very sensitive to the thoughts of those surrounding him, and when he was changed, he gained the ability to read others' minds. After about a decade of being a vampire, Edward made the decision to rebel against Carlisles’ lifestyle of drinking the blood of animals and, for a while, fed on humans. Using his ability to read thoughts, he prayed on only the worst of society, which was how he justified his actions to himself. After a few years of surviving this way, a guilt ridden Edward realised that Carlisle was right in his decision to feed on only animals and returned home. Impossibly handsome, perfect and flawless, Edward Cullen is who every girl dreams of having as her own.
Jacob Black
Mary Alice Cullen
Mary Alice Brandon Cullen’s early histroy is often vague, as she remembers nothing of her human life. She was born around 1901 in Biloxi , Mississipi, and was kept in an asylum because of the visions she had of the future. When James, a tracker, began hunting Alice because the smell of her blood appealed to him, a vampire who worked at the asylum and adored Alice he changed her into a vampire to protect her. James went after and killed the older vampire as revenge. Alice later discovered that the date of death on her tombstone was the same date she was admitted to the asylum. She also uncovered that she had a sister named Cynthia, and that Cynthia's daughter, Alice's niece, is still alive in Biloxi. Alice has a tiny frame but a huge peronality and is a shopping adict. She is described as having pixie-like features and spiky black hair. She carries herself with the grace of a dancer when walking, in a fashion that would ‘break a ballerina’s heart’.

Carlisle Cullen
Dr Carlisle Cullen was born in the 1640's in London, the son of an Anglican pastor who led hunts for witches, werewolves, and vampires all in the name of ridding the world of evil, when many times these groups would end up killing innocent people. As his father aged, Carlisle was placed in charge of the hunts, though he was never as enthusiastic about killing as his father. He was smart enough, however, to find a coven of real vampires living in the sewers of London which he placed a trap for and chased one down. In all the chaos, Carlisle was bitten and left bleeding in the street. Knowing he would never be welcome home again, he hid himself in a cellar underneath a mass of rotting potatoes, emerging 3 days later as a vampire. Disgusted with what he had become, Carlisle tried to destroy himself by jumping from great heights and starving himself. Eventually, the thirst for blood took over and, while hiding in a forest cave, attacked a herd of passing deer. Realising that he could make a somewhat humane life for himself surviving on the blood of animals, Carlisle set off to study medicine and became a brilliant medical doctor. In the early 1900's, he changed Edward, who was on the verge of death due to the Spanish influenza and they became close companions. In 1921, Carlisle then changed the love of his existence, Esme. Later on, Rosalie and Emmett were also changed. Carlisle was 23 when he was changed and looks accordingly. He has blond hair, stands 6 foot 2, and has the same topaz coloured eyes as the rest of his family, due to their 'vegetarian' diet.
Esme Cullen
Esme Anne Platt Evenson Cullen was born in 1895, living near the outskirts of Columbus. When she was 16 years of age she broke her leg climbling a tree, and, as their local doctor was away at the time, was treated by Dr Carlisle Cullen. It was an experience Esme never forgot and she often daydreamed about marrying Carlisle. Esme's dream since she was only a young girl, was to move West and become a school teacher. Her parents, however, disagreed, her father believing she should stay and become a housewife. After watching all her friends marry, a respectable family friend proposed and her father pressured her to accept. She didn't really know Charles Evenson at all at the time of their marriage, but Esme soon learned of his abusive nature and was relieved when he was drafted to fight in World War 1. When he came back in 1919, she found out she was pregnant and, terrified, she decided to flee. The only thing that kept Esme going through this difficult time was her beautiful newborn. When her son died in 1921, Esme resulted to suicide. When she was brought to the hospital, presumed dead, Carlisle found her and, having pity for the young girl he treated ten years before, changed her into a vampire as she lay dying. Esme then married Dr. Carlisle Cullen, and she joined the Cullen's coven in 1921. Esme is a very warm and loving motherly figure with a soft, heart shaped face and caramel coloured hair. Like the rest of the Cullen's, her eyes are topaz which turn onyx when she is thirsty.
Emmett Cullen
Emmett McCarty Cullen was born in 1915 and changed into a vampire at the age of 20 by Carlisle. Emmett was hunting in the mountains of Tennessee when he was attacked by a bear. He was lying, almost dead, when Rosalie found him and carried him over 100 miles back to Carlisle. Rosalie later confesses to Bella that she saved Emmett from sure death because his innocence and dimples reminded her of her best friend's child, whom she had been fond of. Once the pain of the change passed, Carlisle and Rosalie explained everything to Emmett, expecting him to be surprised, spiteful even, but he was not disturbed by what he had been changed into. He did, however, have trouble adjusting to the cullen's 'vegetarian' life style, and on more than one occasion has tasted human blood.
Rosalie Hale Cullen
Rosalie Lillian Hale was born in 1915 in Rochester, New York. She had two younger brothers and a housewife for a mother. Her father worked at a bank and it was this job that managed to keep her family wealthy during the Great Depression. She was born a natural beauty and, growing up, was constantly praised and favoured by her parents because of her looks, causing her to become vain. One day, Rosalie's mother had her dress up to deliver her father's forgotten lunch to his job, in hopes that the son of the bank's owner would take more interest in Rosalie. This sons name was Royce King the Second and when he saw Rose, her mother’s plan worked. He began sending roses to Rosalie and, after making the comment that her eyes were like violets, Rosalie began receiving them, too. They soon became engaged, but their relationship was for nothing other than physical attraction. A shortly before the wedding, Rosalie visits her close friend Vera whos baby boy she adores. When Vera’s husband kisses Vera, Rosalie sees the love and affection in his eyes and realises that Royce doesn’t really love her at all. On her way home, shaken by her thoughts about her loveless relationship, Rosalie stumbled across her drunken fiance and his also drunken pals. Royce began to brag about Rose’s beauty, eventually leading to her being abused and presumable rape. After the drunken men had left Rosalielying on the streets, her life hanging by a thread, Carlisle found her and took her. After changing her, he explained the situation. Upon seeing a reflection of her new vampire beauty, Rosalie's unhappy mood improved. Rosalie soon avenged herself by killing those who had beaten and tortured her. Having saved Royce for last, Rosalie donned a bridal gown and found her fiancé locked in a windowless room with a thick, vault-like door guarded by two men. After killing the guards, Rosalie entered the room and tortured Royce to death. She did not, however, drink his blood, and is proud of the fact that she has never tasted human blood.
