About me:
Te Aranui O Tahiti is an annual San Francisco event since 2007. It's meaning is "Route to Tahiti" a name given by the Tahitian Dance Master Coco Hotahota. It is produced by Elizabeth Bertumen in collaboration with Roiti Sylva and Etua Tahauri. Te Aranui O Tahiti (TAOT) is an event celebrating the Arts and Culture of Tahiti featuring the talents of Tahitian Dance Groups from all over. These groups exhibit their appreciation of the culture through dance and music in a non-competitive atmosphere. This is the first event of its kind in Northern California offering cultural workshops in dance and music and diverse display of crafts from many talented artisans. ..

Tarena Tahiti 2010, (Tahitian Calendar-Solo Competition) will be held 9:30 am - Saturday, April 18, 2009.Tarena Tahiti is a Costume and Solo (Ori) Dance Competition held since 2001. and Te Aranui O Tahiti(Group Exhibitions) will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the San Francisco State University Gymnasium.
Te Aranui O Tahiti will remain in its non-competitive status with group exhibitions. TAOT will have blocked hourly group (minimum 2 groups) presentations throughout the day. The general public can choose to watch and support their favorite group. Schedule of groups performing will be posted. For more information and tickets contact us.
