Bio:
The Tearaways formed from the smoldering remains of some of Melbourne's most edgy and diverse punk rock bands. With members coming hot of the back of The Spent Shells, Final Warning, Dropped at Birth, and Calico Jacks, The Tearaways all met playing music and will all die playing music.
After having formed in late 2009, The Tearaways have become a strong presence on the Melbourne live music circuit, and after an East coast tour with The MurderChord (NZ) they are creating a stir on the national scene. From the moment The Tearaways walk on stage, you can tell that they mean business. Their energetic live shows have since seen them grace some of Melbourne finest stages, supporting bands such as The Aggrolites (USA), D.O.A (Canada), and Bad Manners (UK).
The Tearaways draw on a range of different influences from Rockabilly, Folk & Country to Ska & Reggae combining to create hard hitting Punk Rock songs of the common struggle that are straight from the heart. They have recently hit the studio to record their debut album ‘Tones of Dirt and Bone’. A thirteen track storybook of love, loathing, alcohol and socio-political injustice that takes the beginnings of Punk Rock and launches it, kicking and screaming, into the future. It is due for release in spring 2011.
With their sights set on a new horizon, The Tearaways are committed to bringing a new heartbeat back into the Punk scene which has lay dormant for so long.
