Tearing Down the Walls of Hate

Through my company, Simple Ingenuity, my business partner and I are actively working on "Tearing Down the Walls of Hate" launching it's premier event in Tempe, AZ on March 6, 2010! The Planning Committee is being formed now and includes Claus Johnson, President, S. Tempe Rotary Club, Pat Dearing, Sue Flaig, and Veronica Njeri-Imani, M.A. of the American Business Women's Association, (ABWA), Dr. Paul Eppinger of Arizona Interfaith Movement, Doreen Nichols, National Training & Advocacy Director for National Advocacy & Training Network (NATN), and Carla Reeves representing the Ft. McDowell Radisson Hotel & Casino. Diversity will be present in the musical entertainment and food offered during the event. Wonderful, young peace-activist, Axil Kollist will be there to sing his song, "World Peace Before 2021"! See this young man's myspace page under the same name as his song. We would like to instill an appreciation of our diverse cultures while showing that we can work together to achieve common goals and build a better future for all of our children. We will be building an actual "wall" and decorating it with symbolism to represent the various forms of hate as shown on my icon. Each layer of the wall represents a generation. The walls were built by one generation after another passing on attitudes of hate and intolerance to the next. During the event, participants will sign their name to a brick and remove it, themselves, from these walls. We are asking for the bricks to be donated back so they may be re-dedicated to a positive purpose and used to build raised planting beds at the 2 local SEEDs houses which is a program of the National Advocacy & Training Network, NATN.
