About me: Teaspach Theatre Company was formed in 2002 by a motley crew who met in Centrestage Theatre School, and who all had the one vision - "LETS GET OUT THERE AND ACT OUR ASSES OFF".
Since those first days we've evolved into a busy little company with quite a few shows under our belt and an amazingly creative and dedicated team.
We first staged "THE NUNS WOOD "by Pat Kinevane,
(a dark rural Irish play with lots of interesting characters to get our virgin acting teeth into),in DOLANS WAREHOUSE in Limerick. We sold out every night and were thrilled with the public response.
We then toured Limerick and Southern Ireland with our double whammy James McClure season of "LAUNDRY AND BOURBON" and "LONE STAR" and it caused quite a stir I can tell y'all!
We found ourselves back in the BELLTABLE in 2003 with TOM O'DONNELL directing "RED ROSES AND PETROL" by Joseph O'Connor. And a year later Tom directed a double Geraldine Arun show ,with "THE GALWAY GIRL " and "DONOGHUE SISTERS".The lovely and talented Niamh Conroy devised the musical scores for these three plays.
Teaspach went on a go-slow for a few months with members having babies and all kinds of Shenenigans like weddings and what nots .However they still found time to showcase some new writing by member NIAMH BOWEN called "UP FROM OUR KNEES" for 2006 FRINGE FESTIVAL.
In the summer of 2006 we regrouped and had a huge success with the 1930's satire "THE WOMEN" by CLARE BOOTH LUCE.We sold out the Belltable every night and turne dpeople away in their droves.Gotta say it FELT GOOD!!
This year for the FRINGE FESTIVAL 2007 we have taken over THE TRINITY ROOMS nightly from 1ST -5TH FEBRUARY WITH A SHOW CALLED "100".We're pretty excited about "100". We've two casts and we'll be runnung the two shows every night.Ciarda Toibin our director for this experiment is undertaking the direction of two performances ,with two totally seperate casts of the SAME PLAY!! This is a dream for any actor as she will basically let the cast decide how the play is performed.
The script involves 5 actors who find themselves in limbo with a very erratic guide who tells them they have an hour to choose a memory and then this memory will be re-lived for ever in eternity-everything else will be wiped from their mind. The actors have to re-enact the memories and thats where the improv will come in--different mixes in casts will result in two very different end performances.
Next up is DRACULA for October 2007,plans are heavily in motion for this and its sure to be a no holds barred blockbuster of excitement for Limerick City.
