Technostress are a band divided by two coasts. Treiops Treyfid (formerly of Pitchblende) lives in Los Angeles, Aimee Soubier and Karl Hill (both formerly of Factory Incident) reside in Washington, DC. This method of making and performing music is considered impractical, chaotic and ridiculous. The band toured in late 2007 and are releasing their self-titled debut EP September, 30th 2008.
The 5-song EP was recorded by Hugh McElroy (Black Eyes/Sentai) @ Swim-Two-Birds, mixed with J. Robbins (Jawbox/Channels) @ Magpie Cage and mastered with Trevor Kampmann (hollAnd).
"I'm hearing early PiL, some Peter Murphy, and an overall healthy respect for Manchester post-punk from the dawn of the 80's. “All is Styled” crackles and burns with some cool guitar riffage. “Devices Crawl” is another fantastic tune, that may remind some of Bowie when he worked with Eno, not when he was doing lame duets with Mick Jagger. Moody, overpowering, and mind altering. This is Technostress." - Scenepointblank
