AM 11.50 (Air America)! STEPHANIE MILLER (she wakes me up smiling every morning. Used to wake up to KTLA morning news, until I couldn't stand listening to them parrot the Republican-sanctioned "news reports" and started screaming and throwing objects at my T.V. set!), RANDI RHODES (she is so amazing!), Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz. Find your local Air America Station - (go to www.airamericaradio.com). Take heart, you're not alone. I am and have always been just left of ultra-Liberal Democrat, because the U.S. Constitution is important to me. FREEDOM of religion and personal choice - reproductive and lifestyle, as well. People died for these freedoms, so let's not take them for granted.

Books
There are so many more books I love, but here are a few. "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast (a MUST READ for anyone who values the truth); everything written by John Steinbeck; "Kalki" by Gore Vidal; "A Team Of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin, which took me completely by surprise by taking a historical account of Lincoln's administration and transforming it into a thrilling page-turner. Currently, I'm indulging my guilty pleasure of murder mystery novels. They're just so much fun. Aside from Janet Evanovich, I've started reading Harley Jane Kozak's mysteries and they're really wonderful. I also wholeheartedly recommend "The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell" by John Crawford. It's an account of his experiences as a foot soldier in Iraq. He enlisted in the National Guard to pay for his college education, and ended up in Iraq... kept there for far longer than he ought to have been. It's a beautifully written memoir of a very ugly situation. Read it. I also loved Larry Flynt's "SEX, LIES & POLITICS: The Naked Truth". Regardless of your opinion of this man, he has done more to defend the First Amendment than any other human being alive, and paid dearly for it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who cares about free speech. Besides, it is extremely entertaining!
Heroes
Stephanie Miller,Randi Rhodes, Keith Olbermann (of course), and top of the list is Barack Obama! The man is absolutely brilliant. Who'd have thought we'd bring integrity back to the office of President? Thought we'd lost it for good. Aside from that, I praise the great comedians who have brought me so much joy: Monty Python, the inimitable two George Carlin and Richard Prior, Bill Hicks (so passionate, so brilliant, and taken from us too soon), Louis C.K., Kathleen Madigan, Russell Brand, Brian Regan, Ellen Degeneres, Paula Poundstone, Kathy Griffin, Doug Stanhope, among others (list to be updated as they occur to me). And those without whom comedy would not have evolved, The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields, Laurel & Hardy, among others Above all, my heroes are the unnamed people thoughout history who have struggled against all adversity, given of themselves in the most profound way possible for the good of the people and country they love. To every person throughout history who has suffered and fought for the right to be free, you have my eternal gratitude. Let us never forget their bravery.
Yes, it's my real name. Who is important in my life? Sure do love Nancie and Daisy! I don't know what I'd do without them. Let's see... who else? My baby seeester, Pietra and beautiful nephews, Willie & Harry! I LOVE YOU, GUYS!
Last, but not least, I love my Ray. He's the best guy I know.
Who I'd like to meet: It'd be great to meet Barack and Michelle Obama, someday. I would also really like to meet Keith Olbermann, Randi Rhodes and Rachel Maddow; 3 people who are fighting the good fight. It's no easy feat providing difficult information to people while still being able to make them laugh.
