I perform with a number of great local and national songwriters and musicians. See Schedule; Tedd Swartz Red Bird Songwriter Showcase is a musical showcase of local, regional and national singer / songwriters. Events are planned (schedule permitting) for the third Thursday of each month from September thru May at the Maumee Indoor Theater.
Each evening begins with a Meet & Greet from 6 - 7:00pm. This is a time to meet up with your friends and select your table, talk to the performers, and visit for a while. You can bring in snacks and beverage ( sorry, no minors unless accompanied by a legal guardian ). You can also purchase from the concession stand at the theater.
The Showcase is from 7:00 - 9:00pm where two or more songwriters perform their original songs in front of a listening audience and share a bit of themselves. Music is performed in a cozy, fun, clean and relaxed adult atmosphere. While the Meet & Greet is a time to talk and visit, the Showcase is a time to listen. So we keep the volume at a comfortable sound level and you can understand the lyrics.
Tickets for each event are $10 per person, $60 per tables that seat 1 - 6. There are nine tables available in Theater 2. Because of the intimate venue, reservations are not required but are recomended. For advance tickets and table reservations, call Tedd Swartz at 419-661-0404 or e-mail to tsredbird@yahoo.com. Tickets are also available in advance and at the door at the Maumee Indoor Theater Box Office. ts 1/03/2007
If you write from within, I don't have to explain the pulling inside that brings you to the point of necessity to pick up the pencil and put it to words and/or music...you can't ignore it. I don't compare, aim, steer, or start with the any idea of radio play...or anyone hearing the scratchings of my pencil, or the scratchings of my vocals. I write because it causes me to go deep inside and take the needed time to condense the stirrings, experience, needs, wants and feelings within to be expressed in mere minutes. If I can go there and back and take you with me... I have succeeded. ts 12/2/2007
Dude. Where are your tunes? I know I know I know. But its a gift and you have to share it man. Anyway, check the new pork pie. I feel like a jaunty homicide detective on USANetwork with this thing on my head. Characters welcome.
