Ted Harms plays acoustic/upright bass.
He attended Jesse Stewarts's improvisation workshop at the University of Guelph for 1 1/2 years and has also been a member of UG Prof. Ellen Waterman's Contemporary Music Ensemble.
He is the co-founder of the Kitchener-Waterloo Improvisors Collective (KWIC) with Kathryn Ladano and the founder of the VOC Silent Film Harmonic.
He has had lessons and attended workshops from: George Arvola, George Greer, Kent Kessler, Darius Savage, William Parker, Eddie Provost, Lori Freedman, Rob Clutton, and Jean Derome.
Though he's doesn't think he's officially signed up for the Association of Improvising Musicians Toronto (AIMT), he counts himself as a member.
He has been invited to play at the AIMT Leftover Daylight series with a variety of musicians. He also played with members of KWIC in Glen Hall's 416 Festival (2006) and live on CKMS (Univ. of Waterloo radio station).
He played classical music with the University of Waterloo's orchestra from Jan '05 to Aug '07
