Born in the sleepy lakeside hamlet of Evanston, IL, Ted learned to sing quietly at an early age, recognizing that there was no point in shouting, my good man. This technique has served him well for the most part, except for when things started up in Villanova, PA, and he had to sing loud enough to be heard over his band Haywood. At times, there was feedback, not to mention hiss. But the thing about it is, everything turned out just fine, and Haywood rocketed from obscurity to relative obscurity in a matter of just nine years, ending up in Brooklyn, NY. Unbelievable. So strong was their momentum that they couldn't stop the band from continuing even past its absolute, definite breakup in '01. As a result, today, Ted plows forward not only as a member of the Haywood, but also as a quiet singer with a plinky guitar.
The band I grew up in, formerly the toast of (very intimate, very elite circles in) Villanova, Philly, and Williamsburg, has just released its second posthumous record. That's how good we are, Biggie and Tupac. A lot of the songs grew out of the tinny demos I've posted on my page here. We were called Haywood, and, if you're interested, you can pick up the record by visiting our MySpace pod.
ted! a few weeks ago "firing line" came up on my itunes shuffle, and now i keep needing to hear it... so do you think you could add it back to this here myspace page of yours? i can then force other people to listen to it. it's a genius plan!
I've had you on my friends list forever, and I dont know why, In fact I have no idea why I havent listened to you yet. However I have been listeneing all night, and I swear to God that I think you are possibly my new favorite singer. Ill probably listen to you incessaantly for the next week.
:) youre welcome. cant wait to hear the new songs. hm... beyond pluto is going great. the shows are so much fun. we really need to put new songs up on our page. we might do that over the weekend also. take care
