I am the senior United States Senator from Alaska. As the longest serving Republican in the Senate, I served as President pro tempore of the United States Senate from January 3, 2003, to January 3, 2007. I also chaired the Senate Appropriations Committee from 1997 to 2005, except for the 18 months when Democrats controlled the chamber. The chairmanship gave me considerable influence among fellow Senators, who relied on me for home-state project funds.
Due to Republican Party rules that limit committee chairmanships to six years, I gave up the Appropriations gavel at the start of the 109th Congress. As a result of the spare time, I have begun DJing mashup sets both in my homestate of Alaska, around my adopted home of Washington DC, and in New York City.

No One wants to thank you for the add. Poking fun at politics and politicians is our way of asking people to get involved and get to know the candidates and their stands on issues important to you. We want to make people aware of the problems facing our country and that there are people willing and able to help solve them. We choose humor because it seems to us people who smile listen better.
So thank you for helping us spread a few smiles and a little knowledge.
