My name is Ted Torres, and I am a musician/novelist originally from New Orleans, now relocated to Birmingham.
Musically, I've been involved in the New Orleans rock scene for most of my life, and just before Hurricane Katrina, I worked as a Bourbon Street musician for the better part of six years.
I play bass with CITIZEN JAYNE, a Birmingham-based cover band that plays all your favorite classic rock from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and today.
I am also the author of two novels, 2001's THE PETRIFIED CHRIST, and more recently, SCENES FROM THE BLANKET, which was published in July of 2006. My books are sensual and dark, rich with prose that evokes the spirit and culture of my hometown, presenting readers with engaging characters and situations that present a snapshot of a city that I once called home.
