Sounds Like
The Blurters, Dead Kennedy’s, Suicidal Tendencies, Bogan Arguments, A cat falling out of a tree.
Mid-February 2006, James was in the mood to start a punk band.
Along the lines of old school, street, whatever.
It was always a little iffy when we did things like this because
when we’d start bands it was usually the same story.
Not one band practice. Then you’d get people who would forget
that they’re even in the band. We’d pretty much slip out of it before
it even started. But James wanted something to happen with the
band, to have fun with it and maybe go somewhere with it.
Y’know, make records, sell em, make money, do gigs, buy mars
bars, shake Molly Meldrum’s hand etc. Well that’s still yet to
happen but y’know. He talked to me and asked me to play bass.
Yeah i’d been playing for a few months and decided it’d be cool to
play in the band. I talked to Gordy about doing guitar and I guess
that was that. I guess it was a long awaited..........................thhhhing.
Ryan overheard the whole new band talk and wanted in.
Long story short, it REALLY didn’t work out; and after a year
, we’re still struggling to even get on our feet with this.
Mid-February 2007, James just couldn’t get to practice anymore
and didn’t feel it was fair on us. He left the band respectively
and obviously, there are no hard feelings. So we
got Scotty Mg’Laugh’len to fill in for us and he really proved
him self by learning all our songs in a matter of 2 practices.
He’s on board and in the scum now.
So the question is now whats next?
I’ll tell ya what’s next ya dingbag. We decided to ask Matt
to join when we all thought he sounded good when he sung
Mormons for us at our last gig. We’re now trying to get back
on track with the band for the 3rd time. Jesse has offered to
do Rhythm Guitar for us now as well.
Yeah this story’s raging isn’t it lads?
Anywho, the new scum changed their name to 11 General
and played a few shows here and there across Sydney
minus Jesse and wrote a few songs etc etc. Until they thought
it was about time to "give it a rest" and have a good ol’ hiatus!
Mid-February 2008, The original lineup (see above)
got together at school and started hangin’ out once again
and that got them tellin old stories of the old scum days; and
then it clicked. FUCK THIS SCUM IS COMIN OUTTA
RETIREMENT! This bitch isn’t just gonna die! It’s gonna k
ick over every mail box, garden gnome and fuckin old
lady then die!
SO SCUM IS BACK!!!!
AND YOU BETTR FUCKIN BELIEVE IT!!!
P.S Wonder what’ll happen Mid-February next year?
