A hot new video featuring Birmingham's up and coming artist Teflon. This is a F.A.M. Entertainment production.........High Roller - featuring Birmingham J and Bo Hogg
Teflon began giving us a taste of his dirty south lyrics at 8 years of age. He was inspired to pursue a career as a rap artist after quickly becoming enamored with such popular artists as LL Cool J, Run DMC and Ice Cube. Even though Teflon had a preacher as a father, it didn't steer him down the right road. Growing up in a tough neighborhood, Teflon had to learn how to hustle at an early age. He went from street slanging to selling records independently.
He was known in his hood crew for spitting verses. His unique style, along with his charismatic demeanor set him apart from other rappers in the surrounding area, which landed him a spot in the group OTE(Over the Edge). The group OTE was one of the hottest groups in Birmingham. As a member of OTE, he performed at several local hot spots and opened for some of the hottest names in the business today such as Destiny's Child. OTE was set to sign with an independent record label in Atlanta, however, due to bad management, the deal quickly fell through.
Telfon decided to pursue his own rap career. Teflon brings more to the rap game than just beats and rhymes. He is very expressive and articulate in his message about everday life in the streets of Birmingham. He is one of the most enduring, versatile, controversial and engaging new generation hip-hop solo artists on the Birmingham scene.
In 2004, Teflon decided to take it to the next level as a solo artist and established F.A.M. Entertainment as CEO and founder of the company. He started collaborating with a figurehead in Atlanta. This collaboration helped jumpstart his debut album, "Teflon Believe It or Not," which was released independently in May '06 and has moved 100,000 units to date. The locals of Birmingham are still buzzing over Teflon's debut album and are anxiously awaiting his next project. With the Dirty South becoming a strong presence in the rap industry, it is only a matter of time before Teflon and his entourage place Birmingham on the map.
