"Atarix (real name Sergey Khaninev) is a well known russian musician, sound-designer, mixing & mastering engineer. Started in mid-90s under Rebell Terract alias, he quickly became successful at Canada and New Zealand underground electronic music scene with his brainripping wall of digital hardcore/drill-n-bass/raw hiphop sound. He was the first musician in Russia who created a d.i.y. record label Riot Trigger in 90s to release the new generation of breakbeat oriented music (predecessor of well known today breakcore music style), the first who started making club gigs to promote digital hardcore/breakcore music.
At some point between mid-2001 and 2003 he left his home for serving in army. He spent there 2 years writing new tracks using outdated computer with Fasttracker II software. After release, in 2003, he started net-label Trutypesounds which is now a part of a big russian record label & distro company Government Of Sound. The music output of Atarix totally changed since 90s, now it is a unique hybrid of sound which contains heavy portions of music styles from IDM, breakcore/raggacore, hip-hop beats, dub to free-avant-jazz, ambient, electro-punkclash, drill-n-bass and beyond.
He already performed many local live shows with artists like Alec Empire, Venetian Snares, Howie B, Ceephax, Patric Catani, Neon Neon, Boom Bip, Massive Attack, Pole, Amon Tobin, Enduser, Imminent, DJ Scotch Egg, Sickboy, Krumble, Droon, Rotator, Aaron Spectre and many others foreign musicians.

(Acidsamovar Records, 2008, "12x2) - There's been something boiling up in the russian IDM and breakcore scene for some time, and Moscow has slowly become one of the hottest city in Europe for shows. It's time now to check what sound comes from there, with this "Chaos Tea" 2x12", featuring 16 new tracks by as many bands coming from the cold. Ranging from breaky mash-up to melodic IDM, the whole thing is really quite fresh, crazy and full of energy. All in all, if more people had the drive and enthusiasm of the kids on this compilation, the "scenes" would probably be a lot healthier. Very recommended. ADNOISEAM -
