Many in the media are already calling Steve "Tehut-Nine" McAlpin the "Jamaican Spike Lee" as he rises in prominence and stature as the new name and face of Caribbean filmmaking.
Steve "Tehut-Nine" McAlpin was born in Kingston, Jamaica. As a filmmaker he is the classic example of an autodidact. His love for movies drove him to learn the art and creative process of filmmaking through voracious reading and studies of the masters (Spike Lee, Stephen Spielberg) He has three films to his credit, FOREIGN, BASHMENT- The Fork in The Road and WHAT GOES AROUND.
Steve has also written and will be directing the following films, A HUNDRED GRAND, AMERICAN BOOPS, JAMERICA and RONNIE ON THE RUN, slated for production in 2009.
