Teksteppa first got into the rave scene whilst still at school from listening to the likes of the Prodigy and some of the early rave tapes such as Fantazia , Dreamscape , Helter Skelter ,The Edge etc.As the years went by the scene started to change and in came a new sound 'Jungle'.Along with the change of music Teksteppa's passion grew for the sounds and he started to collect rave tapes himself. After a healthy collection of rave tapes and some knowledge into who's who in the scene Teksteppa decided to actually buy some turntables and give the whole Dj / Mixing thing a go for himself.....After about 6 months training things started to come together....Teksteppa started to attend raves such as Flashback (Que Club) and Helter Skelter (Milton Keynes)....Through going out to these places Teksteppa met some likeminded friends who were starting up a small club night locally in Stratford-upon-avon called Underground....this is where Teksteppa got his first residency and the night also draw in other local Dj's such as Dj Ratty (Fibre Optic),Fallout (Fibre Optic),Mistress Mo (Flashback)...Through this night Teksteppa's network of Djs / promoters grew and he managed to get a few gigs in B'ham at nights like Flashback (Que Club) , Absolution (subway city) , One Nation and also at this time he met a guy called Gav , who turned into a great friend with a passion for the same music and events etc. After a few illegal raves put on by Gav and a few of his other mates in the Warwickshire area they decided to go one step further with the events and put on a club night which turned into Tunnel-Vision (lost in bass) @Cask and Bottle,Stratford-upon-avon....Tunnel-Vision provided a place for DnB heads around Warwickshire to come and enjoy a good selection of drum and bass Djs playing on an awesome 10k sound system in a friendly atmosphere. The Tunnel-Vision nights soon started to make a mark and hosted Dj's such as Patience (formation recs),Dj Ratty (fibre Optic),DJ Pace (Prosession),D-vice & Hena-C,Onyx,LQ,Venom,Doddz,Samas,Caution,Dj Reaction (TerraTechnique),Disfunction,Mistress Mo (Flashback) and many more of the area's big names in the scene.Tunnel-Vision also ventured out to other night clubs such as Hobsons Choice (Banbury) and Subway city (B'ham).
During all these goings on Teksteppa also met a house music producer where he was working at the time , this is where Teksteppa first got exposed to the world of music production. After been given a handful of cd's with music production software on Teksteppa really got into this new hobby and would spend hours on his pc knocking up beats and riffs and learning to sequence music. As Teksteppa's music production progressed he decided to buy some decent monitors and start using different Sequencers programs until he found the one he wanted to use (FLStudio). At the same time a good friend of Teksteppa's , D-Vice , was also getting into the realm of music production and both would share knowledge and techniques....after gaining confidence in his music Teksteppa decided to start posting his music up on forums and websites such as www.dogsonacid.com and dnbforum.com where critical feedback was given. These websites also acted as a platform to learn techniques and important things such as Eq , Compression , Mastering etc.
From posting up the music on forums etc Teksteppa gained some interest from Dj's / Producers around the globe and people started asking for the music to play in their Dj sets etc.....and it was'nt long until an american label (Freestyle Recordings) caught up on what Teksteppa was doing and decided to give him a deal. With the release of titles 'Iron Mask' / 'The Script' (due to be released autumn/winter 2006) , Teksteppa also decided to record under a new guise , this is where the Morphesis name came into action. The name was chosen after careful consideration with the Freestyle recordings crew and it was agreed a fresh name would possibly draw more attention....this proved to be true and other tracks under the Morphesis name have been released on other digital imprints such as Darkland Recordings....
To date you can catch Teksteppa a.k.a Morphesis Djing at nights in the Midlands , such as Instinct (Shakespeariance) ....Teksteppa is also currently working on his own productions and developing his style and experimenting in other styles such as Breakbeat / Electro......Watch out Teksteppa's latest project - "TRIPLE SICKZ" - a new dark / tech Drum and Bass group consisting of 2 Dj's / producers and 1 Mc..... Teksteppa + Onyx + Doc Sirius = TRIPLE SICKZ

With a history of invention spanning such diverse creations as the telephone, golf and economics, Scotland has proven itself to be at the forefront of well, basically, genius. To prove this once again, Nerve Recordings have focused on this part of the world for it's new release - The Intercity EP, featuring producers spread the length and breadth of Scotland (with a guest appearance from Singapore). From the dubby beats of Morphy to the techy futurism of Velocet, most of the sub genre's of drum n bass make an appearance here and show the quality and diversity of the production talent in the country. Starting with the tough beats of "Ruffneck" through to Linden's smooth roller "Day by Day" and finishing on two slabs of downtempo in the shape of Velocet's epic "Go With The Flaw" and the doom laden sounds of "Not In My Town" from the Figures of the Lost Dawn.
