Telethon, a transcendental corporation, is the sole proprietor and purveyor of soul studies in rock-n-roll. Their product has been described by an elite evaluation team as a "punky garage-pop bash-out that hits pretty directly." CEO and frontman, Telethon Veginald Cheeseburger, psychedelic artist and musician, claims to be the embodiment of a ghost boy traversing the ages on Earth since 1200 AD; Creating mind-expansive arts, his only way to procure a seat next to the gods upon leaving limbo. A phenomenon of sight and sound, Telethon's performance is a spectacle of cult and culture in their quasi-religious sermon of sorts.
WHAT EVERYBODY'S SAYING
With the art-punk of Telethon, the Musical, the ever-unpredictable and restless Matt Kamm has finally buckled down and channeled his energy effectively, which is tantamount to corralling a bunch of wild piglets.

"Something smooth is brewing in a Florida bedroom... This is what happens when the lounge singer at Zelda’s local Village Tavern starts trying to mess with the system. Everything was A-OK while the guy threw some Manilow in his Bacharach, but now that he’s heard those Beach Boys and mainlined 80s schlock pop, the denizens of Zelda-land (Mercay Island?) aren’t feeling the milk buzz they used to. Time for the harder stuff?"

"The Bluetooth Banned (Aug. 11, Bar-BQ-Bar) is the latest branch in the knotty world of Telethon Veginald Cheeseburger. He describes the full-band project as a more straightforward rock act, which is true but relative. As this performance validated, it’s a punky garage-pop bash-out that hits pretty directly. But in ..’s lexicon, “straightforward rock” also happens to include that old sit-down organ your elementary school music teacher used to rock in class. “Interesting” is a word that applies to virtually everything .. does, but this band is the most spirited project I’ve seen him involved in yet."

"It took a little time (two performances spread across a six month period) for me realize that I really love everything about Telethon Veginald Cheeseburger, a.k.a. Tele V. Cheeseburger. He’s a character oozing with the spirit of art, and creates it in every moment of his performance. Happy appreciators filled the little performance room of Stardust Coffee for a Saturday afternoon acoustic set of his popcalyptic sooth-singing songs. If you’re not familiar with this local legend in progress, treat yourself to a visit to Tele’s website where you can check out some of his paintings, cool promo photos, and download his new EP, “Him & Her Hymns”, for FREE."

"Le nouveau "split e.p." de fente est un voyage minute du short 20 de deux vieux amis séparés par 3.000 milles que prévoir chantent-alongs. Le côté de "The Ocean Floor" traite la perte de trois manières différentes. Éviter la digue de fourgon gare (...). Le côté Tele V. Cheeseburger adopte une approche évidemment moins sérieuse mais la parvient à acheminer la beauté par autre impersonnel non-sens tordu de vocals et de siffler, beatboxing et l’autre non-sens." ~La Blogotheque (click here to read full article)
"The musical offerings included the uncontainable meanderings of Tele V. Cheeseburger (or Telethon Veginald Cheeseburger, if you’re British), one of ..’s many noms de guerre, which are related in ways evident only to himself. .. is always aglow with the flying sparks of half-formed ideas, but the capricious local artist showed some aptitude for melody as well.
You can’t expect anything straightforward from the guy, however. The kid’s neck-deep in the quirk, and his central impulses favor experimentation over fluidity. Any pleasant melodic current his songs had was constantly rippled by his curious sense of mischief, weird shit involving lots of oddball story lines that, again, only he is able to fully follow. Then again, music is only one facet of the multimedia art experience that is Matt Kamm. Besides, who can focus on musical coherence when you’ve also got pornographic comic strips to produce (“Vibrabed”)?" ~ Bao Le-Huu, Orlando Weekly (click here to read full article)
"The final act of the evening, Telethon Veginald Cheeseburger (“The Tele V.” as he’s known on the streets), was easily the most enigmatic character to grace the basement stage. With one-liners like, 'Wang Tang Coconut and Lil’ Jon couldn’t be here tonight. I wish them well wherever they are.'
…it’s easy to see why he is the quintessential performer. Supported by Philtholomew Pizza for a few tracks, he continued to surprise with a host of synthesizers, beat boxing, and drumming in addition to his acoustic guitar work ... he makes a musical statement that will soon become the staple of scenesters’ iPods." ~ Onward State (click here to read the full article)
"His bare candor is emblematic of a slow progression toward the real... Since he essentially became a solo project, .. has admittedly used the Tele character and his “Cheeseburger Adventures” as a kind of cloak, enveloping the albums in a fantasy world of “Wendell” creatures and, in the case of Tele and Big Tie Moldies, a time-traveler here to warn us of World War III. The albums are self-contained meditations on these characters, complete with backstories and continuations. But he says he may be edging closer to a more emotionally naked outing that gets to the heart of who he really is."
