BLOCKED OUT is a hardworking band who constantly play shows in the L.A. area. Their fierce style and well executed song structure is hard to match. There is a great, beautiful subtlety that comes from Rob Beverly's lyrics. They are overall dark, bleak lyrics (which you and i know is nothing out of the ordinary in hardcore), but within them are bits and hints of hope and light and struggle. Features current and ex members of FED UP and DUKE NUKEM FOREVER. (TELEVISION records 2)
COWER- hatred songs 7" 5$ postage paid
COWER is from Portland, OR and they are nothing if not mold breakers and destroyers of regional stereotypings. Nothing close to being TRAGEDY clones, Hatred Songs expresses heavy, loud, and at times, crushing stoner tinged music. Its chalked full of quick changes that makes for a refreshing 7" in a sea of stale, generic hardcore. With a drawn out noise filled final track, they break down whatever barriers and connotations the listener has built up in order to make way for THE LAND BEFORE TIME LP coming out the fall/winter of 09'. Features members of AUTISTIC YOUTH, BOTTLED VIOLENCE, and FORCED MARCH. (TELEVISION records 1)
