it starts from Edward Telfair who lived in Scotland and came to the US back in the 17oo's. He was govenor of Georgia and also was one of the signers of the Articles of Confederation. Edward Telfair was a slave owner hence where we come in as African-American's with that name. It is also how Telfair county was established in Georgia. Check out the Telfair Mansion that is located there as well. It's basically his home from back when and they made it a historical monument.
