Visual arts, literature, writing, politics (love to watch CNN, MSNBC and even Bill O'Reilly on Fox). Travel, especially exploring and learning about other cultures and countries. Used to love the beach, until Tsunamis and hurricanes
became a reality. I love waves but not that big. I like to read, lately mysteries although have run the gamut from Russian authors (Chekov etc.
to Raymond Chandler and right now am appreciating Judith Viorst. Will think of more interests later.
Music
Am starting to appreciate a little of hiphop and rap but frankly I'm a 50's, 60's and 70's fan Don McLean's "American Pie", Richard Harris' MacArthur Park", Mamas and the Papas, Jim Croce, Joe Cocker, Bette Midler singing "Did you know that you're my Hero" (if that's the title), Leonard Cohen, the music from WestSide Story, Gigi, Stephen Sondheim. I could go on and on but will stop here for now. You got the idea, I hope. Oh yes, Louis Armstrong! and of course Bob Dylan and The Beatles! Joan Baez ----- and all the old songs that are coming back, sung by i.e. Rod Stewart, etc. and that new young singer forget his name but two of his songs are "Raise Me Up" and My Prayer". Great voice. Enough for now. oh yes, Judy Collins, Judy Garland, Joni Mitchel, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, and Cat Stevens. etc, etc. etc And How could I forget Classical music,Beethoven, Tchaikowski,
(spelling?) some of Philip Glass, Chopin, and while I'm remembering some of my favorite operettas, Madame Butterfly. And musn't forget Hoagie Carmichael, Sam playing "As Time Goes By" (crying watching Casablanca) so will go on to the movies now, I'm getting carried away......
Movies
I Love Movies!! Anything done by John Cassavetes; Woody Allen; whoever did Zorba the Greek; my favorite Two for the Road, anything with Albert Finney, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Some real oldies I watch on TMC especially with Robert Montgomery. Films on Sundance and IFC, foreign films in general, Breakfast at Tiffany's, I love to watch old Shirley Temple movies, so innocent. Love musicals, although they don't make them like they used to if at all. Saw "The Constant Gardener", enjoy movies with a cause. So that's it for now. more later.
Television
Rarely watch sitcoms except for Seinfeld and The Simpsons; went on a Reality Show binge and for awhile was hooked on Survivor, Big Brother, even the Osbournes, and the original Real World when it was purer. All Cable News, mostly Anderson Cooper on CNN, (love his heart), Dan Abrams, MSNBC, Had a crush on Tom Brokaw. Some of the old Saturday Night Live shows, especially the very early ones. Some of Mad TV. Was spoiled by the Johnny Carson Late Night show. Not too many can live up to his capers.
Talk shows when they don't concentrate on celebrities. O.K. for now -- will think of more later.
Books
My home is a library so books play an important part in my life. I used to really like D.H. Lawrence; Ernest Hemingway's last book (I think) "The Garden of Eden" and actually a lot of Hemingway. William Faulkner's "Tortilla Flat's; "The Grapes of Wrath" A book I just got called "The Fear of Art" which by the way I recommend to any creative person. I like anything written about Jackson Pollock and Steve McQueen (really!) Right now have become a mystery buff. Am reading P.D. James "Devices and Desire", but am tired of all the characters she puts in the book, hard to read. Read a great book by Michael Crichton, "State of Fear", big book, It has to do with the environment and was written before the natural disasters we are going through now, but it touches on the causes of these disasters i.e. tsunamis, hurricanes etc. It's fiction and part documentary, fascinating!! Recommend it to anyone interested in the environment and the cause of these disasters..
Heroes
All the soldliers out there fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever they're needed. Right now they are the only heroes I can think of and concentrate on.
About me: Just the idea that this stuff is going into cyberspace makes me self-conscious, so I'm kind of drawing a blank on all "About Me". My daughter Sara is great at this. O.K. I'm an artist (visual), although I suffer from extremely "dry eyes". You've heard of that condition, I'm sure. Also was a journalist, worked for the foreign Service (USIA) even applied to CIA and was accepted until they found I had swollen ankles (due to the polygraph I'm sure) When I was asked my name it zipped up as a "lie". Anyhow, to move on, have done a lot of writing. Was a journalist for the Mexico City News. Lots of traveling, lots of writing. Dragged my kids around the world. Lived in Stockholm (Sweden), Mexico City, and Beirut, Lebanon during curfews and bombings which we watched from the roof of our apartment. Lots of stories, lots of experiences, and lots of fun. Living in St. Louis, well that's another story. I do love Forest Park. Oh, by the way I'm from Brooklyn, New York, you know that little borough in New York where people talk funny (dem, dose and dere). Lived right across from Ebbets Field when the Dodgers ruled. Great times!
Who I'd like to meet: Artists, writers, musicians, actors, comedians, people with creativity on the brain, also thinkers, (not status quos) and of course my old friends from Brooklyn, NYC, L.A., the foreign service, UCLA, etc. Make friends with folk from around the world.
Hi, Connie! Are you on FB? How have you been? I haven't logged in very often lately, I've been busy with an internship...very exciting! Oh, yes, and I am moving (as usual) again! Hope all is well. xo
I wanted to share this with you and your circle of friends *smiles*
The original work "Awakened By His Light" was created July 9, 2008, by (Creations By Donna) Donna Osborn Clark. I knew when I created this it was going to be a book cover sometime in the future. Well, that time (several months after it's creation) is now! *smiles* It is now the cover art for a beautiful inspirational book that is an anthology of stories from 14 gifted authors titled: “Never Would Have Made It: A Testimony of What God Has Done In My Life” published by Tranquil Moments LLC.
If you like the artwork you will love the rest of God's plan for this!
"Awakened By HIS Light" is also now available on all of your favorite items from prints, cards, stickers and magnets to household items and apparel at my Create Space Store. www.cafepress.com/DonnasCreations/6590691
Thanks for reading *smiles* please know that I appreciate you so much!!!! I KNOW that if not for many of my amazing friends here I would not be doing what I love most, creating the visions that God gives me. I am so very thankful to be able to do that and to be able to share them with you here.
Hi Connie, A new year with new opportunities and unborn potentials. The book is new, the pages clean. No time like the present to create that Magnum Opus! :-)

When a bird has an injured wing, it has TEMPORARILY lost its ability to fly. It begins to rehab the wing so that in due time it will be able to function as it once did.
When its season comes, the bird is back to flying normal, as if the injury never occurred, yet a scar is left there to remind the bird of where it has BEEN, and what God has brought it THROUGH!
We are the same. When we sin we go through a spiritual rehab to renew our faith. Once it is renewed, by His grace, He realigns us back on His path. Some wounds do take longer to heal than others, yet they all heal in their due season.
The bible says, "A just man falleth 7 times and rises up again." God allows us through serenity to rise once more, to His glory, honor and praise. I hope this message has touched your soul and brought to you a new meaning of the phrase "Thanksgiving." Giving thanks to our Father, thanking Him for simply Giving us life.
Hey friend, You've been in my thoughts so I thought I would stop by and see what you're thinking these days?:-) You've been too quiet. Quiet is a good thing when coming from a peaceful mind, which I hope you're experiencing.
