I like art and literature, taking pictures, film (watching and critiquing), writing, listening, observing and kind people who have a heart.
Music
Eclectic and diverse musical tastes...basically all over the map. But aren't most peoples'? Here are some favorites for starters: Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Charlotte Gainsborough, Nick Cave, The Cure, The Killers, Band of Horses, Editors, Malajube, Leonard Cohen, Regina Spektor, Green Day, Blink 182, Paul Brill, Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield.
Movies
Casablanca, Rear Window, Citizen Kane, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Apartment, Roman Holiday, In Cold Blood, Butterfield 8, Dr. Zhivago, The Sound of Music, Taxi Driver, Annie Hall, Trainspotting, Howard's End, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, American Beauty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mystic River, Pollock, Capote (both films), The Cats of Mirikitani, Zodiac
Television
Not so thrilled with TV...it's a little like background noise but the writing on "Grey's Anatomy" is pretty awesome as is the acting; "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Six Feet Under" was my idea of dark and twisted family drama; "This American Life" (the radio version more than the new TV series); most public TV (Independent Lens), Frontline, "Gilmore Girls," used to like the "OC" and "One Tree Hill" just for kicks..."Sex and the City"...
Books
Native Son, The Corrections, The Year of Magical Thinking...Jonathan Lethem, Susan Sontag, Ranier Maria Rilke, lots of others....
Heroes
People who are old...older people, just putting one foot in front of the other. Survivors (literal/actual and metaphorical). Overall, glass half-full people.

About me: I'm curious about people, places and things. I enjoy exploring ideas, jags of whimsy and shifting views of subjectivity. I appreciate spontaneous acts of kindness and warmth. What could be better?

Who I'd like to meet: Creative people who are pursuing their passions and interests unabashedly amid the torpor of their so-called "day" jobs. Artists, photographers, writers, journalists, filmmakers/directors, Web designers, dancers are especially welcome. But don't worry, if you're an IT or PR professional, I won't hold it against you.
