Kyle and I (Alana is writing this) started making music only this past summer of 2007 and so far the response to our new songs has been amazing. After moving to San Francisco to go to art school in 2004 I had reluctantly stopped playing and making music. After two years of not performing I realized part of my soul was missing. I took a two month trip to Europe and there performed at a birthday party, and a jazz club in Poland, and randomly for people I was staying with- and i realized after having conversations with a few key people that singing is my purpose. It’s obligatory for me to pursue music. So we shaped these songs and recorded them by November of 2007. They’re not quite packaged yet, but I’m working on it. Kyle Drury has been working with me on all the tracks and writing a couple of his own. Without him, the tracks would be dull and inert. Thanks Kyle, you’re the best.

Did you go to Vegas?! I want to hear about it if you did. In regards to Portland; I don't think I'll be here in the last month of May, I may be in Texas. Term finishes in mid-May and I'm hitting the road. Driving to New York. But if you want to come some time before then you can definitely stay here. I may even be able to find you somewhere else to stay at the end of May; I just need to inquire about it...

they say I did but I messed up at the end...thaddaeus played drums with it softly it was really nice...and he wrote a really cool son in response to it. I wish you could come cause we're gonna do it again monday.
rosa was telling me how much she thinks you sound like regina spekter (sp?) at your show the other night, then after your set, that guy said the same exact thing. funny. you guys sounded great though. i'm your number 1 fan!
