Telly is a quirky kid born on the island of Guam. She was born on November 15, 1986, making her 22 years old. She currently lives in Maryland and attends University of Maryland, College Park. If this whole music thing doesn't work out, she hopes to become an elementary school teacher or help children in need out. Even if the music thing does work out, she still hopes to help needy children out in the most angelina jolie way possible. She started playing guitar at the age of 12. Don't worry, she was no good back then. It was not until she was 18 that she started writing her own songs. Telly Rae's actual name is Chantalle. Her middle name is Rae.. "tellyrae" was inspired by ms. "jessicarae"! They were superly amazed by their similar middle names. For all you boys that think ms. telly is hot, she is. There is no lie in that. But she is also happily taken by a boy named Scott. For the longest time, Telly has been wanting to write a happy song because majority of her songs were all sad and depressing like teenagers like it these days. Scott is the only boy that was able to fully inspire her to write a happy song that she liked. I guess he's just magical like that. Aside from being extremely awesome at writing songs and singing them, she likes to do other arts and crafty stuff. She also spends ridiculous hours online. Telly also likes to laugh and make others laugh, and is absolutely in love with the comedian, Dane Cook. SUFI!
Alanis Morissette! She's the woman that absolutely inspired Telly to write her songs. When she first started to write her songs, Telly was experiencing a broken heart from her first relationship/love. She is not one that expresses her feelings through talking about her problems directly. Usually she writes it down and feels a sense of relief. However, this was one of those times where she wanted to write it down and share it with the world in a subtle way that they can relate to. Hearing Alanis's song, "You Oughta Know" hit really close to home as she was going through the exact same emotions as that song. In hearing that song, she thought "If Alanis could help me feel stronger through her words in that song, then I want to do the same thing with my songs." So she wrote a few songs entitled "Broken" and "Tangled" inspired by the entire situation. Writing these songs and performing them for people, seeing their reaction, helped Telly to fully understand that a broken heart is not something uncommon and that everyone experiences it. It was definitely a huge step into getting over her ex boyfriend.
Today, as mentioned above, her boyfriend is one of her biggest inspirations in writing her positive songs. However, seeing teenagers still struggle with the pain of heartache, unacceptance, and loneliness affects her songs as well. Some are based on her high school days of those exact emotions, or on feelings she witnesses upon others.
I love the new stuff! That version of Tangled is awesome! The first one was good, but this one's unbelievable. I'm adding it as soon as I'm done posting this comment! I really love that song.
