Tempa's searing, soulful voice brings energy and excitement to the Colorado Music Community. She is most commonly compared to Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Koko Taylor, and Diana Krall. With more than 20 years of professional experience, Tempa knows how to entertain her audience. Before starting her own band, she captured the attention of Denver music lovers as a member of the Flesh Mannequins. Tempa has shared the stage with BB King, Koko Taylor, Tab Benoit, Jimmy Thackery, Bernard Allison, Luther Allison, Lonnie Brooks, Jeff Beck, and many others.
The Tantrums evolving lineup includes Joseph Barton on guitar. Joseph is also Tempa's songwriting partner. They must be doing things right because their fan base is growing!
Tempa and the Tantrums have been nominated for 5 Westword Music Showcase Awards in the last 7 years and WON Best Blues Band in Colorado in the Westword Music Showcase Awards 2006.Hapi Scratch Records named their lastest album "Voodoo & Angels" Blues Album of the Year for 2007. Tempa and her Tantrums have hosted an award winning Jam..openstage for the last 8 years.(Best Allcomers Jam, WestWord Awards 2007)
Tempa and the Tantrums has 3 CDS of their own and their music has been included on many national and international Blues compilation CDs as well.Tempa is currently on tour & teaching in Israel.
