That's a tough one....
Bobby Gentry, Dusty Springfield, Maria McKee, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Pretenders, a little band out of Shreveport, Louisiana called A-Train; Nina Simone, Steve Earle, Alejandro Escovedo, John Hiatt, Aretha Franklin, Johnette Napolitano, Martha Davis, Annie Lennox (I keep adding names as songs pop into my head) great songwriters, red wine, cigarettes and heartache. (Nobody writes songs when they're happy, do they?)
A brief history: I cut my teeth in cover bands in Shreveport and Los Angeles. When I moved to LA in 84, I thought I should learn about the business of music so I did. I worked for a PR firm, a music magazine and ultimately, a publisher, where I eventually became a songplugger. I started writing songs relatively late in the game but ended up getting a couple of tunes on some TV shows and a co-write on the last great record by Storyville. I moved to Austin in 94, kept writing and ended up making three records for a German label and touring in Europe with bands from here and there. I've been to some amazing places and met some very wonderful people on my journeys. The best part about touring in Europe are the enduring friendships. And the wine and cheese, of course!
Hope to see you soon!

I just want to say that I LOVE your music....a musician friend of mine gave me a copy of your Restless CD several years ago and I can't listen to it enough. Your voice is amazing and so truthful....I can't choose a favorite song because I love them all, but The Other Side of the River is one that I especially like for it's uniqueness.....
