Guy and Lisa with occasional special guests Will Dicharry (fiddle), Jose Armijo (bass), and Suki Kuehn (cello)
Influences
Lisa: I am inspired by Bill Keith, Nancy Sinatra, Alberta Hunter (a nurse like myself who aspired to singing/songwriting), Patti Smith, Leonard Bernstein, Patsy Montana, anyone named John- June-Joni -Joan-Jane, Sueleen Gay, Bruce Springsteen and Patty Scialfa, my farm animals, Tony Joe White and many other southern roots musicians too numerous to count.
Guy: I listened to all of the music of South Louisiana while growing up there. In addition to the local music, I was influenced by "Sing Along with Mitch" records, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton on television, Delta blues, folk music, the Chipmunks, John Prine, and Dale and Grace. My guitar playing has been influenced by Mel Bay, Doc Watson, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, George Harrison, Django Reinhardt, Eric Clapton, Jerry Reed, Mick Taylor, Freddie Green, Keith Richards, Clarence White, and every guitar player that I have tried to steal licks from.

..By the time you start reading this you can pretty much figure that we are a duo with multiple personalities with multiple instruments and a style we venture to say, that can't really be categorized. Yea, there's a banjo and a mandolin but that doesnt really make us bluegrass. And Guy likes the electric guitar too. And that resonator guitar with the blues harp means we like roots music and wish we really were still from the south but, truth is, we live next to the Rio Grande in Los Lunas, NM. Even if we cross the Rio Grande here, we still end up in . . . Los Lunas.
We've got one really great review for our first CD from FROM SING OUT ! MAGAZINE (Spring, 2007, Vol.51 1) --They say, "Ten Cats Laughing have created a very personal CD chock full of surprises at every turn and they've done it on their own terms." Hey,hey My, My, Sing Out Magazine is Real Nice....
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The woodcut on our CD cover is the work of an artist and a friend, Kimo Minton. It will be time well spent.
And here is another way to hear US!
And by the way, our second CD Is DONE---just not released yet and I must say, It's a doozy!
Thanks for sending me a message. I mailed Will & Becki a wedding invitation to their Mesilla address in mid-June. I wasn't sure if they received it yet or not. Do you know if Becki still has the same phone number? Thanks! I'm glad you both are doing well!
Well hello there, I just thought I would stop by to say hi and see how you both are doing. Are you still in Los Lunas playing beautiful music? I was also wondering if Will & Becki had moved to Albuquerque yet. Take care!

I haven't been on here for awhile, wonder if I have the wrong email for you. Katie had little Tyler Jaiden this last Friday at Pres., she was awesome, didn't want meds and she got her way! She got to the hospital at 2:30pm and had him at 5:13pm! He was 7 lbs,5.7ozs and 20 inches, he's sooo wonderful! We're in love again!!! Katie is a little sore, but otherwise feeling good and Tyler is nursing like a champ! Big brother Vincent likes him a lot! :) Vince is taking a few days off to be home, she was home by Sat. night. Hope this finds you well, give our God-kids our love, how are they doing? They're(and you too) always in our prayers! Tim is doing well, hosting and producing a variety show and keeping up with his day job. Don't know how soon he can come home, but hopefully before long! Jon is working at Verison by Walmart and finishing up his degree, had one more class to take, and staying healthy, thank God! Have a fun gig and a safe trip! Love, Patti, Carlos and all
