Teneia Sanders was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. The 25 year-old singer-songwriter is working on a new record that should be released in the Spring of 2009.
Currently living and performing in Louisville, Ky, Teneia is quickly making a name for herself as an up-and-coming artist to keep an eye—and ear—on. Her angelic voice, unique guitar rhythms, and moving lyrics have helped to solidify her growing reputation as a truly gifted artist, one whose dedication is as strong as her music.
Well to update you on the status of Thirteenth Step the band is now broke up I saw it coming but I have already started recording new songs with a new backing band pretty cool stuff being on your own I did start another band with the guitar player of Thirteenth Step called Immortal Stoners last year we knew that Thirteenth Step was falling apart but I gotta a new sound tryin' the bob marley thang let me down slow lol
You may not know me by name but I came many times to Open Mic Night at Stevie Rays not to perform but just to watch you play I learned that I was not the only one who believed in anti-racism. I wrote a new song that's one our new live album I encourage you to listen to it, Its called "A Lesson On Racism" A few years before I learned about you I dated and then asked a young black woman named Trenita to marry me. The band took off and I started using acid and drinking a lot and she left so I came to see you play I sat at the bar to the right of the stage drinking Jack and Cokes alone listening to your songs hoping to feel better. I lost someone I loved very much to drugs but had I not listen to another local artist perform all those nights I would be dead or not a part of Thirteenth Step anymore. I miss you performing at Stevie Rays and hope to hear more of your music in the future please don't stop believing in love.
I need you.... Please come back to Louisville. and please let me know PLEASE!!!! It's been a hard life for me these long couple of months. but I'm okay... just okay... I love you. :)
