  • Bio

..Gritty, progressive, subtle and raucous – the many faces of Ten High are perfectly showcased on its new album Country Hamfisting, due out this fall. Born of the pervasive St. Louis alt-country tradition in 2003, Ten High has evolved over the last five years, experimenting with instrumentation, lineup, and boundaries but has always remained true to its single purpose – making great Americana music. .. ....Country Hamfisting.. is the perfect collection of songs to highlight the many sides of Ten High. From the mournful insights of "To The Damned," to the witty lyrics of "Drinkin' Shoes" Country Hamfisting takes listeners on a musical rollercoaster not for the weak of stomach. .. ..Lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Bob McKee poured his heart into the recording, often wearing his emotions on his sleeve. Giving a look into his private thoughts, McKee has a knack for turning a phrase and marrying poignant lyrics with unusual country licks. .. ..In addition to providing the backbone of the band, drummer Matt Queen also lent his wit to the album, writing lyrics on two of the tracks. Vocalist and keyboardist Rachel Queen adds delicate harmonies and countermelodies, juxtaposing a softness with the hard rocking band's style. Driving rhythmic bass lines were contributed by both Drew Figas, formerly of Ten High, and newcomer Jeff Griswold. Griswold's pop sensibilities also add another layer of intrigue through his harmonies and intricate grooves. Guitarist Jason Kettler (aka Kenobi) joined the band post-recording in 2008, rounding out the sound with twangy rhythm and an arsenal of Atkins-infused runs. .. ..One thing is for sure, Ten High's quirky and altogether unique musical style is sure to endear it to the hearts and ears of alt-country fans for years to come. .. ........ .. .. .. .. ..............Join our mailing list!..............Your Name:......................Email:............................Powered by ....GigDonkey.com....!............
