Ten Pound Strike is a alternative/garage band which just released its 7-song EP in November 2005. The band plays with a hybrid of hard rock music: punk with strains of pop, blues and reggae. Along with the raw, stripped-down production of Joe Blaney (Clash, Ramones, and the Beastie Boys) and Dillon Margerum from NYC's Cutting Room, the album draws comparisons to early Nirvana, Pixies, Iggy Pop and Janes Addiction.
Live, Ten Pound Strike is explosive. Its scowling vocals, gutsy guitars, and overall bravado earned top nods at this year's MEANY Fest and opportunities to play with national acts: Clutch, Monster Magnet, and Josh Todd at the Locobazooka Festival in MA.
