New Single : Disfuctional to be released end of October
See above for the new video starring Callum Maguire (as himself)
The single launch night is on the 31st October at Edinburgh's Voodoo Rooms.
The debut album is complete. Recorded at The Sound Cafe in the Pentlands with David Gray, mixed by Hooverfish (aka Flash Callahan), mastered by Mike Hall (Scuba Z & Lost Soul Band) and performed by Ten Storeys High featuring Stevie Christie (The Proclaimers & Botany 5) and Mike Hall.
The album was launched at The Voodoo Rooms at the end of June and TSH reckon that it was probably their best gig yet - the place was packed, everyone was fuelled by the free bourbon on offer and duly had a ball. The band then embarked on a string of intimate Scottish dates around Scoltand - playing as the filling in a punk sandwich in Fife was another highlight of the launch fortnight!
MORE LATEST NEWS August 2008
We're currently taking a wee break for holidays, but need to get the finger out again soon and start securing some airplay to support the forthcoming release of two singles from The Thrill of the Fall. We're also starting to pen some new tunes for album 2 which we hope to start recording in October - we've got about 5 tracks well along the road and a good few other ideas kicking around the empty vessels at the moment - early indications suggest that the next album will be a bit more full-on than The Thrill of the Fall.
PREVIOUS FORM:
In early 2005, after a brief spell in self-denial, Callum and Steve realised they missed singing and strumming and decided to write half a dozen short, direct, acoustic songs suitable for playing in the corners of darkened bars. A series of small gigs went down a storm and the need for more ego-inflation quickly followed along with the desire to write more songs and play in an acoustic-fuelled band. In July 2006 Colin was persuaded to pick up his sticks and electricity was rediscovered in Jan 2007 through Ewan on bass to complete the line-up of TEN STOREYS HIGH.
2006-8 has seen the band playing to a very varied audience at Medina (Acoustic Edinburgh), Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh University Freshers Ball, Hairth of Knockrach Festival, Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh and Galashiels, the main stage at Edinburgh’s Spectrum Festival at the Queens Hall and Capitol in Glasgow. The band has hosted a monthly residency at Edinburgh’s ‘The Village’ in Leith and most recently The Voodoo Rooms promoting other local bands with an acoustic drive through the TEN STOREYS HIGH & FRIENDS initiative.
TEN STOREYS HIGH were pleased to announce the release of their debut single, ‘GOOD THINGS’, on 11th June 2007 on Sweet Day Records launching the single by supporting THE PROCLAIMERS in JUNE 2007 in a series of gigs around Scotland. The single received airplay and resulted in a handful of great reviews.
CURRENTLY SERVING:
With the grateful support of the Ten Storeys High Music Moguls and special recording guests, the band has completed their first album - THE THRILL OF THE FALL. Produced by DJ/ producer HOOVERFISH (aka FLASH CALLAHAN) and featuring eleven original tracks the album is scheduled for release in June 2008.
OUTSTANDING WARRANTS:
To launch the album and break-in some new material the band will embark on a small tour of intimate venues around Scotland in June / July 2008.
CHANCES OF PAROLE:
A batch of new songs are well underway and the Summer will see a focus on new material with the band aiming to record a SECOND ALBUM (provisionally titled “Silent Sighs & Trembles”) around September 2008.
BAD INFLUENCES:
Midway through a radio interview / live set at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe the band discovered they shared absolutely no common musical influences and sound nothing like the ones they did cite. Other folk have mentioned Frank Sinatra covering Mark Lanegan backed by Primus and Killing Joke.

Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcast day, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.
A
4 track EP, titled Call Signs, it provides the perfect introduction to
the band prior to the release of their debut album, Grappling Hooks, in
early 2010.
