ten thousand islands was founded in 2004 in a little town named La Garriga (Barcelona,Spain) by Maria Monferrer (singer-songwriter) and David Crespo (balago, and other side projects as music for cinema, tv, contemporary dance, ..). In 2006 they signed with a spanish label called Foehn Records. "Grey in the air" is their first record.

Behind the Anglo-Saxon name hides a Catalan tandem, formed by a magnificent and unknown singer (Maria Monferrer) and one of the key members of the always suggestive balago (David Crespo). The occasional notes of strings, wind and electronic only make bigger a voice that jumps from Joni Mitchell to Beth Orton, going from Cat Power or Vashti Bunyan. Pure luxury.
