Tenth Planet is one of the UK's leading re-issue labels.
Formed by British psych fan/expert/archivist extraordinaire David Wells in 1992, its aim was to make available rare and hard-to-find recordings from the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was decided that all releases should be in a limited edition vinyl format, thus preserving the collectors' angle whilst at the same time enabling people to hear and obtain music they could otherwise only have read about. After putting out a few titles, the label began releasing previously unreleased recordings and items which had only made it to the private pressing status. From then on we entered a parallel universe of technicolour pop history par excellence.
In 1995, due to overwhelming demand, David started Wooden Hill to issue selected titles on CD.
Both labels are still going strong 15 years later.
