I am not interested in cars, Christian inspirational novels, celebrity gossip, or video games. Other than that, I'm pretty sure anything. Everything. And then some.
Music
I have the discology of the Alan Parsons Project and also David Bowie. Patrick Fiori owns me (and my mom and my sister). I have the best collection of French rock this side of the Atlantic, thanks to my pirate boyfriend. My playlists run the gamut from Yanni to Linkin Park. Bach, Motzart, Sex Pistols, The Hives. Possibly my all-time favorite album is Ben Folds Rockin' the Suburbs. Of course I love Greenday. I have a respectable collection of contemporary jazz, and nearly every Gooding album. Etc etc etc.
Movies
Velvet Goldmine, Benny & Joon, Rocky Horror, Willy Wonka (the old one), Boondock Saints, Stranger Than Fiction, Notre Dame de Paris, Fiddler on the Roof, The Pirates of the caribbean trilogy, All of Me, Ghost, An American in Paris, The Big Chill, and doubtessly many others. Oh and also The Story of Fifteen Boys, the most underappreciated kids movie ever.
Television
Law and Order SVU (Olivia/Hargitay is my hero, on and offscreen), Boston Legal, Frazier before it jumped the shark a few season in, M*A*S*H as always, Dead Like Me, and Soap. Lately I've been interested in checking out Lost just because Melissa McEwan loves it and therefor it pretty much has to be good. Everything else I basically can't stand.
Books
Type tenthrune into the librarything website and check out my library. Or log on to my amazon wishlist and see what I'm presently drooling over. If someone put a knife to my throat and demanded my favorite book, I suppose I would tell them The View From Saturday. But apart from death threats I really can't pick a favorite, or even a dozen of them.
Heroes
Margaret Atwood. Scarlet O'Hara. Justine O'Neill. David and Barbara Mikkelson. Richard Dawkins. Melissa McEwan. Douglas Adams. My parents. Kay Wiley. And many, many others.
About me: I am an atheist in a heartland suburb. I read, I write, and I feel like my entire life hinges on the word "praxis." I exist in parallel between two countries and two languages. I tend to judge people by what they read, and so for my profile I'm returning the favor. This is the tagcloud from my Librarything account. It pretty much defines me, give or take.
..
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who has at least one book in common with me. That seems to be a good enough standard. I would love to have coffee with Barbara and David Mikkelson from The Urban Legends Reference Pages, or with Richard Dawkins. I would love to go for a walk with Thich Nhat Hanh. And of course I'd sell my kidneys (both of them) to take a creative writing class from Margaret Atwood.
Suquirrel squirrel squirrel !!!!! i can say this word now (with a tiny french accent okay, but it's better, thx arno, scrubs, leet world and my greek friend^^)
Hope you guys have made it to Colorado ok and didn't have to encounter to many storms. Bolts of lightning as I type this. I'm soooooo sick of the storms. Have fun while you are gone.
Congrats on the A's. Good job! Getting excited now about your visitor and your trip to Colorado I bet. Have a great time, Im so jealous wish I was going with. Love you.
Hi,I saw the canadian worker in the museum. And we'll speak again the next week: it's interesting and...she gave to me some contact to be able to be here :). Now, time to get information by myself: thx canadian ^^. tu me manques beaucoup et je te parles bientôt
Hyia girl^^. Nice news from you, yeah! Now ten days, awesome^^. I'll have a lot of coffe in my blood, but i'll be here, promise! Have fun today, i'll send a long email tomorrow (computer in the library shutting down at 19.45 -_-").
Congrats on surviving Pizza Hut. Now all you have to worry about is teaching the oldsters of the world to check their email and file for social security. Huzzah.
So I am totally psyched about MOMIX next week. When we went to see Little Shop today (which was AWESOME, by the way, I wish they were doing more shows), they had posters up all over the place...going to so great.
Oh man, I'm psyched now. Sounds fun. I'll be in H-ville about noon today, should I call you? If I don't hear back from you, I'll probably just show up at your house and hope you're there.
Hey, haven't seen you all weekend, it's weird. How was the PH? This weekend sucked major ones. I dyed my hands purple (that's totally not related to work). Meh. Also, interesting fact: I did an experiment this weekend to prove to myself (and to others) that I am NOT, in fact, a "smoker". I smoked the last of a pack Thursday night at your house, and went without for about 36 hours. I can say pretty certainly that I have no physical dependence on nicotine thus far. yay. See you tomorrow.
Oh my god, I love that little girl. She's so awesome. Are you working your pizza hut job tomorrow night? I thought it was tonight, but then I realized I was wrong...or I think I was wrong...anyway, I know you were off one day, I think I picked the wrong one to not call you. Damn. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Totally pointless commenting. Sorry I didn't get back in touch with you today, I tried to call you but...meh. Well, I'm going to lay down with my headache now. See you tomorrow.
I totally bailed on work today, I hope you guys weren't too busy. My lame ass-cousin called me wanting Michael and I to help move some furniture out of my parents' garage, plus I had to go to the bank three days ago, and I needed to go grocery shopping, and I have a trig mini-test tomorrow and a long assignment I have to do so...I bailed. I feel kind of bad about it. This is a long comment. I wonder if there is a cap on comments. Can I just ramble on and on and on about whatever I want to, or will it cut me off at some point? Oh, and I am going to make some awesome wall art, I printed some off a couple days ago and forgot to show it to you, but it is Bowie oriented and great. Well...I was going to test the comment length thing, but now I'm out of things to say and need to just go to bed...see you tomorrow. If you don't get this before I see you, then um...you get to hear it twice. Night!
