Harmonica- Mo Jo Red*********
aka Ken Mergentime, is a Denver-based musician and harmonica instructor who first fell in love with music through the blues. His lifelong devotion to the Mississippi Saxophone began in high school when he first heard Sonny Boy Williamson (Rice Miller) play live with the Yardbirds, several years before Magic Dick and The J. Geils Band came out the definitive harmonica anthem, “Whammer Jammer.”
His musical influences include titans of the blues such as Little Walter, George Smith and Walter Horton, but also modern harp legends such as Charlie Musselwhite, William Clarke, Jason Ricci, Dennis Gruenling and Chris Michalek.
Before joining up with TeraBlu, Mojo played harp with several bands, including the Jump Start Blues Band, (founded by the inimitable Jimmy Seville). Mojo Red plays a range of styles on both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas, is active member in Denver’s Mile High Harmonica Club, and a member of international Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica (SPAH).
