Sounds Like
To me, just my musical ideas. I'd like to know what other people think my music sounds like.
In 1997, I completed studies in Computer Music and Composition, with a sub-major in Physics, at La Trobe University. After that I spent time recording and producing work for local small-time songwriters and bands, and creating music for media art based short films. To date, I have more than 60 works registered with APRA (the Australasian Performing Right Association), and have had in excess of 80,000 downloads of original MP3 recordings from my websites. Several of my works are now held in the collection of the Australian Music Centre. Most of my music is influenced by minimalist and serialist styles. I generally prefer to place emphasis on the variation of musical aspects other than melody and harmony. I am also interested in the exploration of tuning systems and the manipulation of timbre, and sometimes include the effect of randomness and probability in my music. In 2002 I studied Education at Monash University, and am now in my sixth year of teaching secondary school Music and Physics. Since the commencement of my teaching career, some more recent works have concentrated on demonstrating specific musical concepts to students. All my works are realised by computer and published on the internet. Please visit my website for more music and information.
