teravioles began as a collaborative music/art/lyrical project in the fall of 2000 in Raleigh, NC, and then in Atlanta, GA since early 2001. Originally, themes were based around nature's presence in industrial areas and and vice versa, and strange stories of a first year in a city. The album "Nitemares of the Southeast" was created from four living-room sessions over about a 9-month period. The song "3 am Raw Mastodon" was featured in IBOL Online Magazine's Issue 4. "Sea Floor Spreading," the apocalyptic second album, was mostly recorded at the Kirkwood apartment by the railroad tracks, and completed at the end of 2002 after a series of member changes. About 50 songs were recorded between Fall 2000 and Spring 2003, when the project went on hiatus. There were 3 official performances at Eyedrum Art/Music Gallery near Oakland Cemetery (one each year), and a couple more at the gallery's open-improv nights. In early 2005, Adeeba and Arianna played together at several Kirkwood Baller's Club open-mics, and included as part of Arianna's "Demos of 05." The name "teravioles" comes from "tetra-violets" but also refers to the earthy Kay guitar that began the project.
