RENAISSANCE MAN PUNK STYLE by V. Marc Fort Thursday March 15 2007 Austin American Statesman ---------------------------
Seattle, Wash.’s the Trashies were a no-show for their 10:30 p.m. slot at the Mortville/Super Secret Records showcase at Beerland on Wednesday evening. Al G (algae), guitarist for Austin 1978-style punk rock band the Ends, picked up an acoustic, rigged a mike together and played about 30 minutes of songs off the cuff. Turns out Mr. Al G is not just a crunchy punk rock power chord maestro; he’s also steeped in 1960s psych-pop; he got applause from those in the know when he played a Flamin’ Groovies cover with understated quietude … at a punk rock show!?!

Saturday, March 21, 2009 Clarity & New CD update Category: Music A quick note on the calls and text messages and emails I've gotten concerning the song "The Conflict Within" that has appeared on the Project Armageddon page. Let me be clear: "The Conflict Within" is a Well Of Souls song. It was written by myself and Brandon, Doc, and Ray. Well Of Souls version of the song is more complex and layered than Project Armageddon's. I'm sure the song was accidentally posted (and will shortly be corrected on their page) as a Project Armageddon song rather than what it actually is, which is a stripped down cover version of a Well Of Souls original. Now that we've clarified that...on to the new CD! All vocals for the new as-yet-untitled CD have been completed. John "OJ" Morris has completed 4 of the 8 songs solos and will shortly be completing the remaining solos and harmonies. After that it's just editing and mixdown! We have yet to work out the mixdown location and the artwork etc...but rest assured it weighs heavily on my mind each day. The album WILL see the light of day this year no matter what anyone throws at me. I am very proud of the songs on this release and only disappointed that it has been such a long, sad, disheartening and arduous journey full of drama and betrayal to complete this work of art. I'm sure you will hear it's effect on future releases. Our page here on myspace will be updated shortly with more changes to come after the cd's release. The Vampiress of Metal (our webmaster, dear friend and life-long fan) has done a terrific job maintaining the site and we appreciate it more than we ever tell her. Doomed for life...John Calvin
