Chris Pohl ist ein Charakterkopf, an dem man in der deutschen Gothic- und Dark-Electro-Szene schlicht und einfach nicht vorbeikommt. Mit seinen Gruppen Blutengel, Terminal Choice, Seelenkrank und Tumor gehört der Berliner schon lange zur Speerspitze der Szene, und hat sich einen berechtigten Ruf als außergewöhnlicher live-Performer erspielt. Seine Industrial-Metal-Gruppe Terminal Choice gründete er bereits im Jahre 1993 … allerdings zunächst noch als Soloprojekt und rein elektronisch. Daraus wurde jedoch schon relativ schnell ein echte Band, und auch die Gitarre hielt Einzug in die düster-melodischen Song-Attacken. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit arbeiteten sich die Jungs dann von einem Underground-Geheimtipp zu einem der angesehensten Szene-Acts, sowohl in Deutschland als auch überregional, hoch. Seit 2000 spielt die Gruppe in der festen Besetzung Chris Pohl (Gesang), Sven Louis Manke (Gitarre), Gordon Mocznay (Bass) und Jens Gärtner (Drums, Elektronik). Über die Jahre wanderte der Fokus immer stärker weg von der Elektronik, die im Band-Sound zwar nach wie vor omnipräsent ist, aber von einem fetten Gitarrenbrett, das die eingängig-düsteren Song-Kracher mit Wucht nach vorne trägt, getrieben wird. Auf ihrem Album "New Born Enemies" verfolgten Terminal Choice nun konsequent jenen Weg weiter, den sie mit dem Vorgängeralbum, „Menschenbrecher“, eingeschlagen hatten. Will heißen: Pohls Markenzeichen – Gothic-Electro-Sounds mit Melodien, die sich sofort ins Ohr fressen – treffen auf ein knallhartes Gitarrengewitter US-amerikanischer Prägung. Bei „New Born Enemies“ wird diese Fusion nun zur Perfektion getrieben… die Gitarren brettern aus den Boxen, und brauchen sich in ihrer Wucht vor keiner modernen Metal-Produktion aus Übersee zu verstecken, während die sonore Stimme von Chris Pohl die eingängigen Industrial-Metal-Monster souverän trägt. Ende 2009 melden sich Terminal Choice nun mit einer Maxi zurück, welche die Stärken aller Schaffensphasen in sich vereint: "Keine Macht" vereint die dunkle Brachialelektronik der Anfangstage mit den satten Gitarrenriffs neueren Datums und Chris Pohl's sicherem Gespür für Melodien, die im Ohr bleiben, zu einem satten Club-Inferno. Classic TC... im Sound von heute! Mit Gastvocals von Mina Harker ist der Titeltrack ein fulminanter Vorbote für das 2010 erscheinende, neue Album. Without doubt, Chris Pohl is a glittering personality that has shaped the German Gothic- and Dark-Electro- scene in the past decade like no other. With his bands Blutengel, Terminal Choice, Seelenkrank and Tumor, the native Berliner is one of the leading figures in the scene and is well renowned for being an extraordinary live performer. His Industrial Metal band Terminal Choice originated back in 1993 … in the beginning, it was a purely electronic solo project founded as an outlet for his musical endeavours. But quickly, Terminal Choice developed into a full-blown band and guitars became increasingly important in the group’s dark melodic sonic attacks. With their trademark sound, the boys managed to advance from an underground insider’s tip to one of the biggest acts in the scene in a very short period of time. Since the year 2000, the band is performing in the stable line up of Chris Pohl (vocals), Sven Louis Manke (guitars), Gordon Mocznay (bass) and Jens Gaertner (drums, electronics). Over the years, the main focus started to shift away from the electronics – which do remain omnipresent in the group’s sound – to a fat foundation of loud guitar riffs that relentlessly drive the dark and catchy songs forward. On 2006's "New Born Enemies", the group consequently continued down the path that they had embarked on with the preceding release “Menschenbrecher”: Pohl’s trademark Goth Electro sounds are combined with a solid wall of guitars. “New Born Enemies” drives this fusion of opposites to perfection. The guitars are thudding out of the speakers with a cutting edge sound that does not look inferior to any large scale overseas Metal production, with Chris Pohl’s dark and mighty voice carrying the Industrial Metal monsters competently. Terminal Choice made a fulminant return on the scene with their smashing new single "Keine Macht" in late 2009. The title track effectively fuses the thudding Dark Electro of the old days with the massive guitars from the last two releases and Chris Pohl's cunning nose for catchy melodies. Classic TC... in the sound of today! With guest vocals from Mina Harker, "Keine Macht" is a superb appetizer for the upcoming new album, scheduled for release in 2010! Terminal Choice are back with a bang... stronger and more evil and club-compatible than ever!
