"Rubberband" was the original name of this band that started in 2000 with Rich and Derek, the longest-standing members. Then the group was called "The Conductors", and for a short stint "Mushroom Macrame". Now in its current incarnation we are "Terrapin Island".
David stepped in to add his amazing rhythm guitar and vocals in 2004. Robbie joined us at the end of 2007 with his Jerryesque guitar leads. Mike is our most recent member taking command of the Phil-Zone in Sept. of 2009. He's currently also in the band High Peaks in Albany, NY. Check them out sometime!
Brattleboro, VT is our home base where we play the majority of our shows. We have performed around New England for the last 2 years. We all work really well together and have a lot of fun doing what we do.
Come out and check us out sometime!
Hey Terrapin Island, In your presence even my shadow acquires the sensation of touch. Entranced by the sweet harmony of your lips, I gaze beyond reason to find the oasis of your brilliant soul. The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. Cities crumble, skies ignite spontaneously in your presence. Your beauty is equal to the smoothness of a polished gem. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. I keep searching for you between the cushions. How can I help but use your eyes as a means for self-asphyxiation? You breath as delicately as vapors flowing towards an attractive flame. Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts. The music that flows from your instruments overwhelms me with creativity.
