THE GOLDEN BEAST (TRIBUTO DE COLOMBIA A IRON MAIDEN - 2008
BIOGRAFIA:
In summer 2002 the band was born in order to take constructive messages to its listeners through Metal music, more specifically through “PROGRESSIVE POWER METAL”.
The band first started as Dagorlad, with its first lineup in 2004 managed to do a demo recording which consisted of four songs in Spanish, named “Horizonte Gris”.
Due to ideological and musical differences inside the band, it had changes both in lineup and name, which was changed to TERRA SUR. This name created by Francisco Murillo (Vocals) better reflects the vision of the band and the way they see themselves: Music and art loving South Americans.
In October 2007 TERRA SUR recorded its first album sung in English language. RAISE YOUR VOICE was acclaimed by the local scene as one of the best metal albums at the moment.
In 2008 the band took part in a Colombian tribute to Iron Maiden, covering “Can I play with madness”.
Some of the band influences are Angra, Symphony X, Yngwie J. Malmsteen.
TERRA SUR was a semifinalist in the years 2006 and 2008 in ALTAVOZ, a festival type event created by the local government to promote culture.
The band and some of its members have taken part in different local and international projects , from neighbor countries Venezuela and Ecuador, and songs from Terra Sur have been aired in several radio and online stations, in countries like the United States, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba and El Salvador.
Currently the band is recording the two different albums that it plans to launch this year: “Alza Tu Voz” (Spanish version of Raise your voice), and a second album from which some songs like Noble, Luces del Cielo and Resiliente will shortly start being aired.
